Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

A Key Performance Indicator is a metric (e.g. number of requests per second) that indicates if some key business objective is being satisfied. Since it’s a metric, it means that it must be able of being measured or quantified. Businesses usually use multiple KPIs to evaluate their success at reaching concrete targets.
